How Much Coffee Per Cup? – (Is There a Perfect Amount?)

There are a lot of brands and roasts of coffee in the world, and you can’t just drink them all. But I would love to try! This is a quick and dirty rundown of how much coffee per cup of coffee makes the best cup of coffee. It’s not a comprehensive list, but it’s a good first step on your coffee journey.

How to Calculate the Perfect Amount of Coffee for Yourself

The standard ratio for brewing coffee (with different coffees this amount could vary so check the label) is 1-2 tablespoons of ground coffee per 6 ounces of water. Depending on light or strong you would enjoy your coffee, you can adjust accordingly. Therefore, 1 tablespoon for lighter coffee and 2 for stronger coffee. That 6-ounce measure is equivalent to one “cup” in a standard coffeemaker, but keep in mind that the standard mug size is closer to 12 ounces or larger.

How Much Coffee For 4 Cups

You simply take the standard of 1-2 tablespoons of ground coffee per 6 ounces of water (adjusted to your taste) and multiply it by 4. Therefore you would use 4 – 8 tablespoons of ground coffee per 6 ounces of water to make 4 cups of coffee.
